Specific reason was that Nursa reached a level with his productions where our crew felt like it was time to put his tracks out. But the main intention was to build a platform for upcoming artists. >> - WHO IS INVOLVED WITH RUNNING IT? DJ Ignite. A few other people from the crew contribute to it with promo and opinions, like Miss Redflower. >> - WHAT OTHER LABELS, NEW OR OLD, HAVE INSPIRED YOU? V Recordings, Ram, Subtitles, Virus, Full Cycle, True Playaz, Metalheadz, Breakbeat Chaos, Black Sun Empire Records, Shadybrain, Flight Recordings, Basswerk, Hospital, Ninja Tunes…. Two of our key artists are Proktah and Nphect. Simply because they have more than one release on Trustinmusic. Scary has to be mentioned who is currently working on a follow-up of “Alpha” and “Jam”. But generally, there is no such thing as real key artists right now as we are still a pretty young label. The intention of Trustinmusic is to pick up new talent, so artists could change with every release. Although we expect that an “inner circle” will evolve with time. >> - WHAT DO YOU LOOK FOR IN POTENTIAL ARTISTS? Originality. Strong hooks and talented song writing. Fresh and unheard sounds and a different perspective on Drum and Bass. Of course the tune needs a decent production too, but we prefer a sloppy or wild produced tune if we feel it, compared to a rather cold piece with no soul but a super sound craftsmanship. We sometimes sign people or encourage them to carry on and keep sending us beats when we hear good ideas, even if they have not reached their potential in production skills. >> - HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR LABEL'S SOUND? Lately rather technoid and deep. A certain “back-in-the-day” jump up influence can hardly be denied. Generally we do not limit ourselves to one certain subgenre in Drum and Bass with Trustinmusic, bottom line is that everything is intended for floor use.. not for chill out. >> - WHAT'S THE ETHOS BEHIND THE LABEL?
